About NACOF

National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing and Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd, (NACOF) has been established under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act 2002 and registered on 4th November 2009 by the Joint Secretary & Central Registrar, Cooperative Societies in the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India at Registration No. MSCS/CR/320/2009. The membership of NACOF is 74 comprising of the State Level Federations, Distt Level Cooperative Societies, and large size/primary level societies from 25 States and UTs of India i.e. the States of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, and Haryana. Commercial Activities

Agriculture Sector:

Procurement of wheat, paddy/rice, pulses, oil-seeds, Jute during Khariff and Rabi Crops seasons directly from the farmers for supply to Govt. Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Cooperatives and other Organizations and also under MSP Scheme of Govt of India, as nominated Agency of State Governments.

The whole pulses are also processed as per demand of the buyers and supplied. The processed pulses are also procured from the Millers and Suppliers by inviting offers, whenever required.

Supply of Sugar, Seeds of Cereals, ready-to-eat items under ICDS Schemes, Pulses Millets etc. Agro-Equipments, Bio-Fertilizer, Chemical Fertilizer, Pesticides/Insecticides.

NACOF is in operation of supply of horticulture, forestry, planting equipments & machinery, solar energy, organic farming etc.

Solid Waste Management & Bio-Remediation

Solid Waste Management has always been g challenge for the Government. They do not have the expertise or the workforce required for these projects. Therefore, they outsource various agencies for the same.

Management of solid waste reduces or eliminates adverse impacts on the environment and human health and supports economic development and improved quality of life. A number of processes are involved in effectively managing waste for a municipality. These include monitoring, collection, transport, processing, recycling, and disposal.

NACOF has Vast experience in the implementation of Municipal Solid Waste management systems right from conception to implementation of the project.

Waste Water Managment

Waste Water Management is the need of the hour which can be known by the amount of money being spent by the government for the Conservation of Water Bodies. Water conservation programs involved In social solutions are typically initiated at the local level, by either municipal water utilities or State governments.

NACOF has participated in the global fender called by HMDA (Hyderabad meiropoliian development athority). Hyderabad for bio remediation treatment of Hussain sugar lake and the successful tenderer in the tender. NACOF is already implementing effective microbe technology (EM Solution) along with bokashi balls in the lake and drains in and around of Hussain sugar lake for
improving the quality of water and arresting the foul odor and increase in do levels, decrease of BOD/COD/TSS, etc,

Solar Energy

India has tremendous scope of generating solar energy due to its geographical location. ol like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal have great potential for tapping solar energy due to their location. The scope for NACOF includes :

Supply of various items operated by Solar Energy Systems like Lights, Solar Water Pumps.
Promotion of solar energy in rural areas, since majority of the population lives in these areas.

Dairy Farming

India is one of the largest milk producers of the world. The demand of milk & milk products is increasing rapidly.
There is immense scope of dairy farming in our country.

Dairy Farming from being a traditional family run business today has grown into an organized dairy industry with technological specializations in every part of the process. The tremendous growth in dairy farming equipment helps modern dairy farms to manage thousands of cows.

The Industry size can be gauged by the production capacity- an estimated 400 million litre per day currently,
which still does not meet the demand of the Consumers.

NACOF has been shortlisted to manage Government owned Gaushala in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), housing
more than 7500 cows spread across more than 100 Beeghas.

Cluster Development and Organizing Capacity building of Farmers

NACOF has been extensively working in cluster development and Organizing capacity building of Farmers. NACOF is a National Level Federation consisting of 72 Member Cooperatives stores from all over India consisting of District/Wholesale/State federations that all are working in 72 different clusters. Besides, we are promoting several new clusters. Our program of cluster development and Organizing capacity building of Farmers includes:

  • Promotion of Farmers Producer Organizations / Cooperative Societies as Cluster Based Business Organization under the scheme of Promotion of 10000 FPOs of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Government of India.
  • Creation of processing/value addition Infrastructure owned by the Farmers’ Collectives.
  • Capacity Building of Cluster through training, demonstration, exposure visit & workshop.
  • Creating Credit Linkages with Banks and other financial institutions.
  • Creation of Marketing Linkages through value addition, branding, packaging, and distribution.

Skill Development

Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development in a country. The National Skill Development Mission launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on July 15,2015, aims to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities.

The idea is to raise confidence, improve productivity and give direction through proper skill development.

NACOF knows and feels that “Youth” is the asset and pillar of every country, hence strengthening them. NACOF is focusing on “Enhancing and Upgrading” their skills through implementation of many Skill development Projects launched and promoted by Government of India. It has been making efforts to create an ecosystem for you which will provide them opportunities through practical training so that they could access skilled employment opportunities & set up self-employment ventures.
